There's a Beast at Crawley

It's a year since Jensen ended his tenure at Turf Moor having been with the Clarets for ten years and for much of last summer it looked as though it might be the end of his league career, that was until Bury signed him on 2nd September on a one year deal.

In a season of turmoil at Gigg Lane, he was signed by Kevin Blackwell and also played for former Claret Ronnie Jepson and then current boss David Flitcroft and went on to make 36 league appearances for them, taking his total of league appearances in England to 352.

He won their player of the year award but that came the day after he'd been released, but, just 12 days from his 39th birthday, he's moved back up a league by signing this one year deal with Crawley who are managed by former Villa and Derby boss John Gregory.

Gregory said: "I'm delighted to have Brian at the club. He's still a superb goalkeeper who is in fantastic physical condition. He is a real presence in the penalty areas and a character who will be great in the dressing room and around the club.

"As usual, we have done a lot of research into our signings and I have spoken to a lot of managers and people in the game about Brian and without exception they have all spoken very highly of him.

"I think our fans will enjoy him because not only is he still a very good goalkeeper but he is a character, someone who will give his all for the club. We're delighted to have him with us."

Jensen said after completing the signing: ""I'm really excited about this new challenge at this stage of my career. I still feel I have a lot to offer. I had a really good season at Bury but the opportunity to move to an ambitious League One club and work with an experienced manager like John Gregory was too good to turn down.

"I'm delighted to be here and I can't wait to show the Crawley fans what I have to offer."

When Jensen makes his debut for Crawley he will become the first player to have played league football for them and Burnley.
