The McCann mystery

Having returned to the Burnley side recently after his surgery, McCann looked close to signing a new deal to keep him at Turf Moor beyond this summer. McCann himself said he wanted to get the deal done and dusted before going on holiday.

Then came the spectre of supposed interest from Horwich and even since there has been speculation on top of speculation.

Today, our local media are reporting that Brendan Flood met with McCann's agent as we do all we can to keep him at Turf Moor. Meanwhile, the Bolton Evening News are claiming that Bolton Wanderers have no interest in him and their midfield target is Swansea's Darren Pratley.

I don't believe that to be the case and remain convinced that Bolton do have a keen interest in signing McCann this summer.

Believe which one you will but the fact is that, right now, Chris McCann is coming out of contract at Turf Moor and we need him to sign a new deal for him to be leading our midfield next season.
