The injury list is shortening

Matt Lowton is ready for a game

Closest of them all is Matt Lowton. He suffered a shin injury in pre-season and is still awaiting the opportunity to make his debut for the club following his summer arrival from Aston Villa.

But he's been training all week and had no reaction which has led to Sean Dyche ready to give him some game time next week. "We are hopeful of getting Matt a game next week," Dyche said.

"He has been out five weeks now and he just needs that game. But he's been training with us all week and feeling no ill effects. He is looking clear at the moment, so we'll get him that game and use the international break wisely to get him topped up."

That follows on from this morning's news on both Kevin Long and Dean Marney who will be hoping for some game time soon in the development squad.

The manager said on them: "Dean and Kevin have been out long term, but they are now actively back training with the first team and they are getting closer to stepping back out on to the pitch.

"Not the first team, I must explain, but the process of getting back playing. They have been training with us all the time now, which is great and they are going on nicely. They are coming to the end of their rehab now, on their way back to the first team."

There's good news on Fredrik Ulvestad too, although he's not quite ready to play. Dyche confirmed that he is now moving more freely and is back on the grass.

That just leaves Ashley Barnes who is some way behind but is on the right course according to the manager.
