BWFC update. Exclusive to Clarets Mad!

It might only be of passing interest to Clarets fans but I managed to nab an exclusive on the current state of play at The Macron Stadium yesterday.

A major sponsor of the Whites was fresh out of a meeting in the late afternoon (04. 02.2016.) and we had arranged to meet. Over dinner with our two wives and my BWFC supporting father-in-law I got the real news!

Phil Gartside the former Bolton Wanderers Chairman is I am assured, “not pulling a Blatter”. He is seriously ill with complications following his recent battle with cancer. Phil is in pretty poor shape and the tumour has unfortunately spread.  I know we have had our run-ins with Phil and I regret to say he is not well liked by the majority of Clarets supporters but I wish him all the best in his battle with his very serious illness.

Update: Sadly, Phil Gartside passed away 10.02.2016. Our thoughts and prayers are with Phil's family and friends at this sad time. R.I.P. Phil.

A win for Bolton tomorrow against Rotherham would help them big style in their fight with relegation. What may also help secure their long term future is the big news of a potential takeover. Remember the former Wanderer Lee Chung-yong who is now plying his trade with Crystal Palace? Apparently he boosted shirt sales for the Whites in South Korea on an unprecedented scale.

A delegation from a multi-billion dollar shipping and property conglomerate met my source yesterday. They are keen to capitalise on the growth potential for the beautiful game in South Korea and consider acquiring Bolton Wanderers their best way forward.

My source holds considerable business interests in the UK and Europe and this news is neither speculation nor makes believe. We may have never been in reality ten years behind the Whites of Horwich but if this takeover attempt becomes reality, they may hope to at least have parity with their East Lancashire rivals from Burnley?
