Stoke away for Clarets

Last updated : 21 February 2011 By Tony Scholes

For the third time in four draws this season ours was the first one tie out of the hat and should we get through it will be our first FA Cup meeting with Stoke in twenty years. On that occasion we won 2-0 in a second round tie at home with goals from John Francis and Winston White.

Our previous cup encounter was eleven years earlier when a Martin Dobson penalty gave us a 1-0 third round win in a controversial game when referee Kevin McNally incensed Stoke by sending off two of their players.

Three previous cup ties against them, two in the 19th century all ended in Stoke wins.

The full draw is

Stoke v West Ham or Burnley
Manchester City or Aston Villa v Everton or Reading
Birmingham v Bolton
Manchester United v Leyton Orient or Arsenal
