It's a real kick in the teeth for Stockport. Besides being due to play us, their reserves should have been playing at Ramsbottom that night but the Evo-Stik League club have moved quickly to switch to a game against the Clarets.

Ramsbottom match secretary Andrew Edmondson confirmed the fixture and said he was delighted to have got it arranged and he also thanked Stockport for their understanding.

"It is fantastic that we have got a Burnley XI coming down, he said. "It is certainly going to be a competitive fixture and with Stockport only likely to send a youth team, this match will be much better for Robbo's (manager Jon Robinson)preparations ahead of the new season.

The game will be played at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium on Tuesday 28th July with a 7:30 p.m. kick off.
