A sensational 25 yard swerving strike from Burnley's Belgium international Steven Defour, looked to have earned the Clarets three vital points yesterday.

Steven Defour's 65th minute strike looked to have sealed all three points for Sean Dyche's Clarets at Turf Moor yesterday.

Picking up a loose ball in midfield and driving forward before lashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom corner of the net, Defour demonstrated the quality within the Premier League.

Hull's Robert Snodgrass fresh on the back of an international hat trick for Scotland in Malta in midweek, mirrored the quality of the Defour goal to snatch a dramatic dying seconds equaliser.

Snodgrass lifted a 25 yard free kick over the Clarets' defensive wall and sent a dipping left foot strike into the bottom corner of Tom Heaton's goal with a superb, unstoppable goal.

No disrepect to the EFL but goals of this quality are simply not on show in the lower leagues week in, week out.

The Premier League is often the subject of derisory comments about the amount of money that is undeniably awash in the top flight.

Speaking from a fan's point of view, those two goals at Turf Moor yesterday were worth the entrance fee alone. (TEC).
