Premier League clubs could play in Johnstone's Paint Trophy

There has been no formal proposal as yet but AFC Wimbledon have confirmed that they were the only club of the 48 to oppose the plans.

The Premier League put forward a four point blueprint which would include the creation of a new league within the pyramid for Premier League B teams.

The Football League said there was no appetite for the league but pledged to work with the Premier League and the FA to find solutions that would be supported across the game.

The suggestion of allowing the 'B' teams to play in the JPT was one of the considerations at the time and is one that seems to be getting more than significant support.
