Paterson on the way back

Martin Paterson
The first problems came in pre-season and he missed a lot of the games ahead of the league season although was in the side on the opening day against Nottingham Forest. After struggling he was left out but made a dramatic return at Norwich, scoring twice to give us a 2-0 half time lead in a game we eventually drew 2-2.

Unfortunately he was hit with his troublesome thigh injury in the next game at home to Doncaster and was substituted at half time.

By the time he was fit to return it was Eddie Howe in charge. He came on as a sub in the cup win against Burton Albion but in the next game, again as a substitute and again against Doncaster he suffered a recurrence of the injury that has kept him out until now.

But he'll play in the reserve game and Jason Tindall said: "Martin is making great progress and he will play in the reserves on Wednesday. He has trained very well recently and looked sharp, so he could be in with a chance to appear in the last two games."

The reserve game against Preston kicks off on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
