The good news is that the player has been given the all clear following the clash but manager Steve Cotterill has given every indication that he won't feature in Friday's televised game. He said he will be giving him a few more days rest although we will expect to see him the following week for the final game against Coventry.
McShane will learn his fate today when his appeal will be heard. Should he win that appeal, and he has been supported by Burnley, he will be free to continue playing. If not he will serve a four match ban that will rule him out of the last two league games and both play off semi-finals should they finish the season in the top six.
