New role for Brassy

Chris spent last season with the League Two club, but injury brought his season to a premature end and he only played twice after the first week in February as Bury successfully avoided the drop into non-league football.

At the end of the season he wasn't offered a new deal but was instead invited to prove his fitness ahead of the new season. That's still the case, and he's reported back for training along with the rest of the Bury squad, a squad who now appear to be under the control of former Lincoln and Peterborough boss Keith Alexander.

Whatever happens with the training he will still be at Bury and today has been appointed as the club's new Centre of Excellence Manager, and will also assist youth team coach Mike Sheron. He'll be 32 this month, and is now moving back into a coaching role should his playing career be at an end.
