They suffered a heavy 7-1 defeat against Loughborough Dynamo on Saturday in the Evo-Stik League South, after which manager Neil Wooliscroft and his assistant Darren Williams resigned.

Jimmy has managed them before and having stepped in he will take training tonight for the first time ahead of tomorrow's game against Kidsgrove Athletic.

His new chairman, Julian Parton, told the Shopshire Star that his appointment was excellent development for the club.

He's been out of the game, other than scouting, since losing his job as Ronnie Moore's assistant at Rotherham during last season. He'd previously been at Walsall as manager, his first management job in the Football League since leaving Burnley in 1996.
