| Man of the Match winner Ben Mee |
Ben Mee won the man of the match at the ground and he's won it on Clarets Mad too. He polled 31.7% of the vote which saw him end above the two central midfielders; Joey Barton coming second with a 19.7% share and my choice David Jones taking third place with 16.2%. Fourth place was shared by Michael Duff and Sam Vokes, both of whom won 9.9% of the vote.
The top three in the vote were the same as the top three in the ratings but not in the same order. This time Jones was the winner with a rating of 6.16 out of 10, the only player to receive a rating higher than the average mark of six, although Mee was second with exactly six.
Barton was in third place with 5.66 and a rating of 5.41 out of 10 was enough to win Michael Keane fourth place despite it being his lowest rating of the season.
The points awarded towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year are eight for Mee, seven for Jones, five for Barton and one each for Duff, Keane and Vokes.
That one point won by Keane has taken him above Tendayi Darikwa to the top of the player of the year table, having been joint leader last week, but things are tight at the top with only 17 points separating Keane from Tom Heaton who is in seventh place.
The man of the match voting will be underway again tomorrow after the QPR game, around an hour after the final whistle.
