McCann could be out for two months

Joey Gudjonsson replaced McCann before the half hour and the Irish midfielder will now await news of a scan with manager Owen Coyle concerned that he could be ruled out for around two months with damaged knee ligaments.

He may need a scope to establish the full damage and should the news not be positive it opens the door for both Joey and Kevin McDonald to fill that place. McDonald is one of a number of fringe players expected to come in tomorrow night at Barnsley to push for a place in the first team.

Should the McCann injury be as bad as feared it will be his first long spell on the sidelines since establishing himself in the first team. Last season he missed just three of our games in all competitions.
