Mahon - Coyle sort of denies Ipswich link

However, the comments from the manager have hardly said that Mahon won't be making a move, just that he hasn't spoken to the Ipswich manager about him, and he's almost hinted that there was interest in him prior to the last transfer window closing.

Coyle said: "Alan Mahon has been in almost every sixteen I've played," and added: "There was interest in one or two players in the last transfer window. It's not necessarily the case that Alan Mahon was one of them, but there was nothing concrete in any case.

There are players who aren't playing who want to play. Steve Jones is available for loan and Gabor Kiraly has been told he can leave. But there has been no dialogue between myself and Jim Magilton, who I get on very well with.

"I am not getting involved with conjecture, but if anyone made a concrete offer for any of my players, then they would know before anyone else."

This season Mahon has been named as a substitute in all but one of our ten league games. He's only been used in two of them, coming on in the home defeat against Ipswich and at Swansea, whilst he was also introduced as a sub in the Carling Cup wins against Bury and Oldham.
