Mackem Webb will referee Brentford game

It will be his seventh Burnley game, but his first for just over two years when he took charge of our first away game of the 2013/14 season at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday.

We have to back almost five years to his first game. That was a 1-0 defeat at Coventry in the 2010/11 season and he did not have the best of games. It's fair to say though that he's refereed subsequent games well although he has, on a couple of occasions been busy with his yellow cards.

After seven years as a Football League referee, which incidentally started with a Brentford game in the North West. That was at Gigg Lane when an Andy Bishop goal gave Bury a 1-0 win in League Two.

There were no yellow cards that day and he's certainly not the busiest where cards are concerned. Last season there were just 69 in 31 games along with five yellow cards, four of which came in his last 10 games.

His last Championship game also involved Brentford, their 2-2 home draw against Nottingham Forest in April. Andre Gray scored; Henri Lansbury didn't but was one of two players yellow carded.

This season he's already refereed four games, three in League One and a Capital One Cup tie, in which there have been eleven yellow cards, six to home team players and five to away team players.

HIs last game was Walsall's 2-1 win at Rochdale last Tuesday. That game saw two yellow cards, Rochdale's Joseph Rafferty and Kieron Morris of Walsall.

David Webb is 28th in RATE THE REF with a rating of 66.39 out of 100.

The assistant referees are Steven Copeland (Merseyside) and Graeme Fyvie (Tyne & Wear). The fourth official is Football League referee Gary Sutton (Lincolnshire) whose last Burnley game was our 1-0 win at Hull in November 2012.
