Birmingham City gaffer Gary Rowett has conceded he would like to retain on loan Burnley central striker Lukas Jutkiewicz at St. Andrews.

Rowett is convinced the change in Blues' ownership means the club are in a healthier financial position to snatch the Clarets' hitman on a permanent deal.

Jutkiewicz signed an unexpected deadline day loan deal with Birmingham City from Turf Moor. The loan is is due to expire early in January 2017, providing only a further 11 games for Lukas to play with the Blues.

Rowett's Blues have an option to extend the loan deal and the Chinese backed Trillion Trophy Asia's Blues' investment now gives Birmngham a chance of signing Jutkiewicz on a permanent deal.

Rowett sounded optimistic about the chances of keeping the in form Jutkiewicz, who has netted four times for the Blues in his last six outings.

Rowett added, "I don't like to talk too much about contractual things. I have said before we have got an option that we could at least have the opportunity to speak to Burnley."

Sean Dyche now has a serious dilemma. Jutkiewicz could hardly be described as free scoring at Burnley but serious injuries no doubt contributed to that.

The multi-millon pound question posed for Sean Dyche is should a fully fit, raring to go Jutkiewicz be allowed to leave on a profit based deal? (TEC).
