Jordan signs in

Jordan was released by former City boss Stuart Pearce at the end of last season after losing his place in the side following the signing of Michael Ball from PSV Eindhoven last January. Following Ball's arrival Jordan, who had previously played in twelve of City's Premiership games, made just one more appearance, that coming on the last day of the season at Spurs.

It was down in what is now League Two where he made his league debut, then aged twenty he spent the last two months of 2002 on loan at Cambridge United and made fourteen appearances for them. On his return to Maine Road it didn't lead to an early place in the first team although he did make a substitute appearance at the end of that season and two more substitute appearances in the following season.

It was the 2004/05 season when he finally broke into the first team. His first start was in a home game against Norwich and he retained his place for the Manchester derby at Old Trafford a week later. They got a point that day from a 0-0 draw and Jordan had the task of playing against Christiano Ronaldo. He won rave reviews as the Portuguese struggled to make an impact on the game.

From then until January of this year he was very much a part of City's first team squad, that was until Ball arrived. It was still something of a surprise when he was released but that's allowed the Clarets to move in and the Warrington born 25-year-old has now committed himself to Burnley for the next three years.
