Jones was a free transfer signing in the summer of 2013 having been released by Wigan, officially joining the club when the calendar moved over from July to August having been with us throughout the pre-season.
He went into the first team for the opening day game against Bolton and has remained there ever since, missing only two games, the away fixtures at West Brom and Leicester last season.
He played a major role in the promotion and was very much an influential figure in the Premier League season so it is good news that, with just one year of his contract remaining, he's committed to being with us for the next two years.
