Jay Rod and Andre in the news

It seems that a club is linked with Jay just about every week and today it is the turn of Stoke City who, it is said according to the ever reliable Alan Nixon, are ready to test our resolve with an offer for Jay in January.

Norwich are also said to have had him watched but that any fee would probably be too high for them. The report reckons Stoke would have to go to around £6 million to have a chance of luring him to the Britannia Stadium.

It's been a steady stream of suitors for Jay, who on Tuesday notched his 22nd goal of 2011. He's currently under contract with the Clarets until the end of the 2012/13 season and it would certainly come as a massive boost if, instead of all this speculation, we tied him to a longer deal.

Meanwhile, the same paper last week reported that we were ready to ditch Amougou in January but today they have reported that he will not be moved quite that easily and he has, apparently, told Burnley that he will not be forced out.

He signed from Reading in August 2009 on a three year deal meaning he's currently contracted to Burnley until the end of this current season. Burnley would not want him to leave for nothing, it is said, and so would look to get a fee for him in January. A source close to the player said he will only leave if offered a suitable deal elsewhere.
