Hill in at Barnsley

He took over as Rochdale manager from Steve Parkin just a few days before Christmas 2006 and after reaching the play offs in each of his first two seasons in charge he led 'Dale to automatic promotion to League One a year ago.

They've done well and were in with a chance of the play offs until the last few games and that alerted a number of clubs higher up the leagues. He had the chance to go to Crystal Palace at the beginning of the year and has held talks with Sheffield United.

He turned both down and it looked as if he'd done similar with Barnsley with both clubs confirming that talks had been held and that Hill had withdrawn his interest. That all changed dramatically over the weekend with Rochdale confirming that talks had resumed and today he's been appointed as the new manager of Barnsley and goes along with his assistant David Flitcroft.
