Guidetti deal confirmed

Guidetti has joined us initially until 3rd January 2011 and Brian Laws admitted that we've been watching him closely since he scored a hat trick against our reserves last season.

Laws said: "We noticed him against our reserves when we had a very strong side out. He did very well and scored a hat trick against us and ran our centre halves all over the place. We couldn't believe how old he was. He's only a young boy but he's got a man's body and a mental strength.

"Since then we've been keeping very close tabs on him. We wanted to get him on loan to get a good close look at him and see if he could bring something else to us."

A friendship between David Platt at Manchester City and Stuart Gray, our first team coach, has helped bring this deal to fruition for a player who Sven Goran Eriksson took to Manchester City. Eriksson was very keen to sign him for Leicester as was Ipswich boss Roy Keane.

Since that Turf Moor reserve game, Guidetti has been back to his first club IF Brommapojkarna on loan and scored four goals in eight games. He's also played extensively for Sweden's Under-19 team and made two appearances at Under-21 level.

Now, he's a Claret for the next five and a half weeks and will wear the number 20 shirt.
