Gray on his way to the Valley

Charlton have been linked with him for some time and earlier this week had an offer turned down by Burnley, but most thought it was only a matter of time before they came in with an offer that proved to be acceptable.

They've done that and today Burnley have accepted Charlton's offer of £1.5 million plus a further £500,000 in add ons which we believe to be £250,000 based on appearances and £250,000 should the Addicks win promotion.

It leaves us once again with a healthy profit on a player who has been at Turf Moor for less than two years. He joined in March 2006 for a £750,000 fee from Sunderland and was quickly off the mark with the opening goal in a 2-0 win against Norwich on his home debut. Ironically his last Burnley goals were at Charlton.

He didn't train with the squad this morning and it has been confirmed that he will not be in the squad that travels to Coventry tomorrow.
