Good week for Cort and Edgar

For London born Cort it was a first call up for Guyana and he went straight into their team for Friday's away game against Barbados in the North, Central America and Caribbean Group B. he played the full 90 minutes and helped keep a clean sheet in a game they won 2-0 with two late goals.

There was no clean sheet last night but they earned a point from their away game against Bermuda with a 1-1 draw. Having gone behind with 17 minutes remaining it was a goal from once Burnley target Ricky Shakes on 81 minutes that earned the draw.

It was the same for Edgar and Canada, a win and a draw although Edgar helped his side to two clean sheets. Canada are in Group D and on Friday they won 7-0 in St. Lucia. Five of those goals came from English based players with Simeon Jackson of Norwich hitting a hat trick and Preston's Iain Hume scoring twice.

Yesterday, like Guyana, they had to settle for a point. Canada's came in a 0-0 draw against Puerto Rico at BMO Field in Toronto.

Both countries lead their groups with ten points from four games, and both are back in action next month when Guyana face two games against Trinidad and Tobago with Canada having two games against St. Kitts and Nevis.
