Goalscorers are stars at Deepdale

Last updated : 02 March 2011 By Tony Scholes
It was a special day for the Burnley fans at Deepdale as we completed the double over North End for the first time in nine years, since the season of Arthur Gnohere, Paul Gascoigne and Bertie Bee with the streaker.

Cork got the winning goal and he comfortably came out on top of the man of the match vote, polling 42.9% of that vote. Rodriguez, who had netted the equaliser in the first half, was in second place with 26.3% and Michael Duff, who had an outstanding game at the back, took third place with 10.9% of the vote.

The same three players took the top three positions in the player ratings but this time it was Jay Rod who came out on top with a rating of 8.00 out of 10. Cork was second, and his rating was 7.57 which was just ahead of Duff who came in third with a rating of 7.52 out of 10.

Both Cork and Rodriguez win five points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year and Duff picks up two points. Those points have increased Cork's lead at the top over Chris Eagles to 19 points and for Rodriguez it is a climb into fifth place, going ahead of Clarke Carlisle.

The next man of the match vote will start on Saturday evening following the home game against Crystal Palace.
