Goals galore in August - you vote for the best

2012/13 Goal of the Season winner Charlie Austin

I can't recall a month where we've had so many goals. With no penalties or own goals to remove, all of the eight league goals and six Capital One Cup goals are included, five of them scored by Danny Ings and three by Sam Vokes with the other six scored one each by David Jones, Junior Stanislas, Scott Arfield, Keith Treacy, Kieran Trippier and Jason Shackell.

It starts with Ings getting off the mark against Bolton, running on to a ball headed on by Vokes before scoring via a David Wheater deflection.

Then it was on to York as Jones scored from a Wallace corner in the first half before goals from Stanislas, Ings and Arfield gave us what proved, in the end, to be a comfortable win.

Great headed goals from right wing crosses by Ings and Vokes won the game for us at Hillsborough against Sheffield Wednesday before we came home to beat Yeovil with a first Turf Moor goal in over two years from Treacy and one from Vokes.

There were no goals at Brighton but a Trippier free kick and a neat finish from Ings won us the cup tie against Preston and the month ended with Ings and Vokes again on the scoresheet at Derby when captain Shackell added his name to the list with our last goal of the month.

You can vote via the front page of the site or the VOTING POLLS page with the vote ending at the end of Friday.

The winning goal will automatically be included in the Goal of the Season vote next May where we will finally know who has taken the title won last season by Charlie Austin with his goal at The Valley against Charlton.
