Gifton moves on

His departure from Burnley came on the last day of January, just before the transfer window opened, and since then he's been the only English player in Spain. Despite never winning a starting place in the Murcia side he spoke recently of a long term future with the club who have just been promoted to La Liga.

However, he's moved on and has now signed a one year deal, with an option for a second year, with Elche a club who ended last season in eleventh place out of twenty-two clubs in The Spanish Second Division A.
