Gibson is latest target

It's Christmas in just over a week which means the New Year is not far away and with it comes the transfer window that Sky just love and most football clubs detest. That means players are going to be linked with moves to various clubs as the transfer merry-go-round prepares for its one month of dealings.

Gibson isn't the first player to be linked with a move to Burnley next month and he won't be the last. Some, hopefully, will arrive down Harry Potts Way whilst others won't even need to stick BB10 4BX in their sat navs.

And so the latest is Gibson. He was linked in the summer with loan moves to both Aston Villa and Sunderland as well as Blackburn where Agent Kean was keen.

Unfortunately the Republic of Ireland midfielder suffered an ankle ligament injury in August which scuppered any chance of that and he's only just on his way back from that injury and has played in just one first team game this season, that being Manchester United's home defeat against the mighty Basel in the Champions League Crystal Palace in the Carling Cup.

United play Liverpool tonight in the reserve league at Altrincham. Gibson could start and Burnley are expected to have him watched in this game.

For now, I would suggest he's just one to add to the list of possibles, and no more.
