O'Connor joined the Clarets two years ago in a double swoop along with Wade Elliott and made an early impact in the side during the first half of his first season with the club, netting seven league goals including penalties.

His form dipped during the second half of the season and he lost his place in the side, a place he failed to regain at all during last season when his only action was from the substitutes' bench. He did net one goal during the season, our second in the 3-2 FA Cup defeat at Reading. At the end of the season, with one year remaining on his contract, he was placed on the transfer list.

There had been talk of Blackpool, even during last season, and during the summer he was linked with a move to Doncaster who are managed by his old Bournemouth boss Sean O'Driscoll. But nothing came of them and today he's gone to Bournemouth again and the move could become a permanent one.
