A meeting last night made the decision to relieve McNally of his duties  with the National League North club having won just once in the last eleven games and slipped to 18th in the table. Sinclair was interviewed this afternoon and was offered and accepted the job with Chris Millington joining him as number two.

Sinclair, who was with the Clarets for two and a half years having signed for us in the summer of 2004, said: "I'm pleased that it has come around now and I think I'm ready for the job. I have been helped along today very much by the chairman and we have left no stone unturned regarding the squad, the football club and the supporters and what is expected here.

"We have got a lot of hard work to do and it is something that I am really excited about and I think it is a great platform for myself to go again and try and improve on field results for Hednesford."

He's brought Millington with him, and added: "Chris Middleton is someone I have worked with for the last year at Oldham, he is very experienced and I am hoping that he will help me improve the players, organise the team and make us hard to beat."

Sinclair played over 100 games for the Clarets. he made his debut on the opening day of the 2004/05 season, alongside other new recruits Danny Coyne, Michael Duff, John McGreal and Micah Hyde, in a 1-1 home draw against Sheffield United.

His last appearance came in January 2007, a horrible team performance in a 1-0 home defeat against Stoke. He joined Huddersfield a couple of weeks later.

He was manager of Colwyn Bay from 2013 until early 2015 and then joined Brackley Town as a player on a temporary basis despite being aged 43. For the last year he's been part of the academy coaching team at Oldham.
