Four ex-Clarets looking for new clubs

Steve Jones joined Walsall two years ago following his release from Burnley and had a good first season there. He was in and out of the team in the first half of this season and moved to Motherwell in January on loan where he joined up with manager Stuart McCall for the second time.

On his return he's found himself his release papers being delivered by Walsall and that's a fate that has beset three other players who have played for Burnley on loan.

Delroy Facey joined Lincoln City last summer and has featured regularly in their side this season until suffering an injury in March that has ruled him out since. Lincoln have lost their league status and in their inevitable cuts have released the 30-year-old striker who was with the Clarets on loan during the 2003/04 season, the last under Stan Ternent's management.

Craig Armstrong (1994) and Steve Guinan (1997) both had loans at Burnley from Nottingham Forest and both have been playing for Forest Green Rovers. However, both, like Jones and Facey, have this week been released.
