Although Nottingham born, Darikwa qualifies for Zimbabwe through his father and he's been called into their squad for an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea to be played at the Rufaro Stadium in Harare on 6th September.

He's one of only two English based players named by coach Kalisto Pasuwa, the other being Colchester midfielder Macauley Bonne while the squad includes three players from each of Chicken Inn and Mamelodi Sundowns and one from Chippa United.

Zimbabwe and Guinea are in Group L along with Swaziland and Malawi with the games having kicked off in June of this year. Zimbabwe won their first game 2-1 in Malawi with Swaziland beating Guinea by the same score.

The qualification games run into September of next year with the finals taking place in Gabon early in 2017.
