He got his first Championship game last season at QPR and refereed five games at the league's top level last season. This season, so far, he's refereed three Championship games, the last of which was Barnsley's 2-1 win at Preston in November on the night we played Doncaster at home.
Langford is not a referee I can recall seeing in action but I can report that he's having a quieter season in terms of cards. In 21 games he's shown 55 yellow cards and two red card. Of those yellow cards, 24 have gone to home team players and 31 to away team players.
The two red cards came in the same League One game, Plymouth's 3-2 win at Swindon in September. David Prutton (Swindon) and Plymouth's Reda Johnson were the players to see red.
Langford's last game was the 1-1 draw between Hartlepool and Notts County a week ago tonight. There were two yellow cards in that game; Hartlepool's Peter Hartley and Krystian Pearce of Notts County.
The assistants tonight are Danny Markham (Tyne & Wear) and Gary Stott (Manchester). The fourth official is David Storrie (West Yorkshire).
