February Goal of the Month - Time to vote

Last updated : 02 March 2011 By Tony Scholes
The first goals were in the 2-1 win against Norwich; firstly Dean Marney's strike from just outside the box to give us a 1-0 lead and then Jay Rodriguez' late winner, converting a Danny Fox free kick.

A week later we won 3-1 at Watford. The own goal hasn't been included but there are the Chris Eagles and Chris Iwelumo goals as each player set one up for the other during the second half when we took a 3-1 lead.

Three days later another late goal earned us a point at Cardiff as Steven Thompson headed home at the near post from a corner to deny his former club a win and a week after that Rodriguez scored a consolation for us in the FA Cup defeat at West Ham.

That took us to last Saturday and the comeback from a goal down to win 2-1 at Preston. Rodriguez netted his third goal of the month with the equaliser after being played in by Eagles and the winner came from Jack Cork. He played the ball out to Wade Elliott and then made ground to get on the end of the cross with a diving header right in front of the Burnley fans at Deepdale.

That's one from Marney, three from Rodriguez, and one each from Eagles, Iwelumo, Thompson and Cork to choose from. The the voting continues until the end of Friday.

The next vote will then be the man of the match from Saturday's home game against Crystal Palace and that will be available from around an hour after the final whistle.
