Nevertheless, he was the winner of our man of the match poll, taking a 25.4% share of the vote, just ahead of Eagles who had 21.7%. Left back Danny Fox came third with 12.1% of the vote.
Fox, however, took first place in the player ratings with a rating of 7.07 out of 10. That was just ahead of Brian Jensen who was second. His rating was 6.86 and Elliott was third with a rating of 6.79 out of 10.
Both Elliott and Fox win 4 votes towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year and there are two points each for Eagles and Jensen. Those points will make no difference now to the winner. With the Clarets having failed to reach the play offs we now have just one game to go and that has ensured Jack Cork takes the Clarets Mad Player of the Year title.
The results from the Portsmouth game are below, along with the current table for the player of the year. Meanwhile, the voting continues for the man of the match from the game at Leeds and that will run until the end of tomorrow.
