Eckersley joins Shakers on loan

Eckersley, who spent time last season at Plymouth as well as enjoying three months with Bradford City this season, has signed on an emergency loan until 7th May which takes in the remainder of Bury's league games.

His only first team experience at Burnley has come in cup ties. He played the two Carling Cup games against Hartlepool and Barnsley last season as well as the FA Cup tie at MK Franchise, and this season was in the team for the Carling Cup fixture against Morecambe. But apart from that, he's had to rely on his loans for first team experience.

He was recently asked what had been his best decision and he replied that it was certainly not signing for Burnley. He has another two years remaining on his contract at Turf Moor.

Having played 12 games for Bradford City this season he goes straight into Bury's squad for tomorrow's game against Torquay.
