East at Cardiff

He joined the Football League list for the 2006/07 season and was awarded his first Championship game when he refereed the game between Bristol City and Blackpool at Ashton Gate in January 2008.

That first season was a quiet one for him in terms of cards, but season by season his rate has increased and this season, so far, he's yellow carded no fewer than 82 players in 23 games. He's also sent off three players.

Of those yellow cards, 40 have gone to home team players and 42 to away team players. The first of his three red cards saw Angelo Balanta of MK Franchise sent off in their 3-2 away defeat against Eddie Howe's Bournemouth in October.

He also sent off Brighton's Mauricio Taricco in a 2-2 FA Cup draw at Woking and just a couple of weeks ago he reduced MK Franchise to ten men again when he dismissed Sean O'Hanlon as they won 2-1 at Bristol Rovers.

East's last game was the League Two fixture between Aldershot and Macclesfield. It ended goalless but there were three yellow cards for Manny Panther (Aldershot) and both Ross Draper and Emile Sinclair of Macclesfield.

The assistant referees tonight are Nick Hobbis (Birmingham) and Simon Knapp (Bristol) . The fourth official is K Johnson (Weston-Super-Mare).
