In what has been a difficult qualifying group for them, they both played the full ninety minutes against France in Guingamp, the goal coming just eight minutes from the end. The result has taken France to within two points of leaders Iceland with a game in hand.

Conor Mitchell was again the substitute goalkeeper whilst former Claret Shay McCartan, now with Accrington, played the last 15 minutes as a substitute.

Northern Ireland have one game remaining when they face Ukraine next Tuesday at Mourneview Park in Lurgan. Any sort of result will ensure they don't finish bottom of the group.
