Cork still keen on Turf Moor stay

Speaking to the media this week, Cork said: "I think I'll be looking to leave Chelsea and Burnley will be up there when I'm thinking about where to go. I'm looking forward to getting somewhere and being part of a club rather than the loan man who's come in. I want to be part of a club. It's a different feel, I think, when you're somewhere permanent."

Cork's also stressed that promotion back to the Premier League isn't a factor. "I think whatever division they're in, Burnley will be really high in my thoughts, especially with the new staff and the players here. I've really enjoyed it here."

He's never broken into the first team at Chelsea but added: "I've really enjoyed my time at Chelsea. I couldn't have had better coaching and better people to be around when I was growing up. Brendan [Rodgers] took me from the youth team and the reserve team and the next stage was to go out on loan.

"They have the best players in the world so you can't really complain. They are such good players, good athletes and good pros. It's only good to be around it. The only thing is it's frustrating because you know they're so good it's hard for you to get your chance.

"You can be satisfied with training with them every day, but it's a different experience going on loan. I get to play games and I get to play at a very good standard in the Championship and I'm really enjoying it here."

Cork originally joined Burnley in January last year on a loan deal until the end of the season. He impressed, scoring his first Burnley goal in our last Premier League game against Spurs. He returned in August, days after the opening day win against Nottingham Forest, on a season long deal and he's now played 55 games for the Clarets, a club record for a loan player.

I do think that Jack Cork as a permanent Burnley player in 2011/12 would be very popular with the Burnley supporters as manager Eddie Howe gets his first real chance to shape the squad.
