Cork returns to Chelsea - for now

Jack Cork
Saturday was Cork's 51st league appearance for Burnley in two loan spells; the first of them in the second half of our Premier League season followed by just about the whole of the season just coming to an end.

Cork has often spoken about his desire to cut his ties with Chelsea and has continued to say how much he enjoys it at Burnley whilst the club, via both of his two managers Brian Laws and Eddie Howe, have repeatedly expressed more than an interest in keeping him at Turf Moor.

Nothing has changed and following the Cardiff game, Howe said: "Jack will go back to Chelsea now and finish the season with them. He's an excellent young player and I'm sure there will be discussions taking place and we'll just have to see how it unfolds."

Fans have often discussed the possibility of having Cork in the side alongside a fit Chris McCann and we've had a taster of that recently with McCann's return from injury.

McCann is now out of contract and I think it would be the best news of the summer if the club were able to announce the signing of both these players.
