Scott McDonald had given 'Boro the lead but a late goal from substitute Dele Adebola, his first of the season, earned Forest the point they didn't, according to manager Billy Davies, deserve.
Davies admitted after the game: "I said to Tony Mowbray on the touchline 'we didn't deserve it'. The home side were better, but you take what you get. Tonight it's gone for us."
It certainly didn't go for Derby and their manager Nigel Clough who had some very strong words for his players after they'd lost at home to Doncaster. Clough had been receiving criticism after another defeat but was quick to point the finger of blame elsewhere.
He said: "Sometimes we can come here and explain what we think, but I think there is a time for them (meaning the players) to come and explain it, their own performances.
"Did they think they did their jobs tonight? Did they think they were on the money tonight?"
They were booed off and Clough said of the fans: "I thought they should have booed more. I thought they should have booed a little bit louder."
They certainly booed when he substituted Theo Robinson but Clough added: "He never held the ball in 55 minutes or however long he was on for. His job is to hold the ball and he didn't do that."
Things are no better for Clough with the news that his move for Preston's Paul Hayes has been blocked. Lilywhites' manager Phil Brown doesn't want him playing for a rival club in the Championship, preferring him to play reserve team football.
In the other game Portsmouth beat Scunthorpe 2-0. After a poor run of form Pompey have now returned five successive wins without conceding a goal and have moved into the top half of the table.
These results and the midweek stats are below along with the leading goalscorers and each club's disciplinary record along with the weekend fixtures.
Also included this week is each club's average attendance, with the highest and lowest attendance also showing. Burnley have attracted Sheffield United's highest attendance this season but have also attracted the lowest at both Scunthorpe and Portsmouth.
