Bartley was sent off on 32 minutes with the score at 0-0 to leave the Clarets to face an hour with ten men. Manager Eddie Howe spoke out against the decision by referee Jon Moss but has opted not to lodge an appeal with the FA.

Howe has certainly not changed his opinion but felt it would be difficult to win an appeal as well as being a costly process. "We looked at it but it was difficult with the camera angle to get any clear decision," he said.

"Looking at the photos as well, w definitely didn't feel it was a red card, but you have to prove it and it was very difficult with the camera angle we were given to do that because it was so far away. So we have decided not to appeal.

"If we had different angles I'm sure it would say Marv went in one-footed, is feet never left the floor and it was an honest tackle, but we couldn't prove that. It's a blow to the lad because he's just got his teeth into what's a tough challenge.

Bartley will now miss the games against Swansea, Middlesbrough and Derby. He'll next be available for the home clash with Portsmouth on Easter Monday.
