Centre back Duffy has signed ahead of the Clarets' last nine games of the season and will give us extra options at the back.

Duffy has come through the academy at Everton and made his debut in December 2009 in the Europa Cup but at the end of last season, whilst on duty with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad, he suffered a life threatening injury when he severed an artery near his liver which required immediate surgery.

Now fully recovered he's played regularly in Everton's reserve team and has made the first team bench on a number of occasions. He'll join up with the Clarets on his return from international duty.Duffy has played for both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. After featuring at under-21 and B level with Northern Ireland he opted for the Republic of Ireland a year ago.
