Clarets confirm Darnbrough exit

Darnbrough was Eddie Howe's last appointment before returning to Bournemouth although it was after Howe had left that he arrived at the club with the title of Head of Recruitment and Analytics.

He joined from West Brom where he'd worked for Dan Ashworth, but was given a more senior role at Burnley which oversaw recruitment, transfer business, contract negotiations and performance analysis, working alongside Lee Hoos and Sean Dyche.

The last two transfer windows have seen him come in for some criticism. Last summer, Dyche had to intervene at the 11th hour to get Michael Keane to Burnley and in the last window came news of the last minute email he sent out to agents in apparent desperation.

Clarets Mad believe he's been away from Burnley FC for some weeks on gardening leave until this evening when they reported that he had left the club due to a restructure, and he is expected to join Norwich.

That restructure looks certain to see the arrival of Frank McParland next week in a director of football type role, although there has been no confirmation of that yet or what his job title might be.

McParland spent long periods in two spells with Liverpool and has also worked for Bolton, Watford, where he was a colleague of Dyche, and most recently at Brentford where he acted as director of football alongside manager Mark Warburton.

With David Baldwin having now replaced Lee Hoos, who left the club yesterday ready for his start at QPR in July, there are big changes being made which hopefully will see more positive action during this coming transfer window.
