Salzburg - base for the fans

In previous years we've had three games against German clubs and one against a Greek club but this time the opposition will be FC Brasov from Romania and Apollon Limassol of Cyprus.

The Brasov games comes first, at Abtenau and that's a venue familiar to Burnley fans who made the trip to Austria two years ago. On that occasion we met up again with Nik Michopolous as we took on PAOK Salonika, the club where he is now goalkeeping coach.

The game will be played on Tuesday 31st July and will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Abtenau is 28 miles from Salzburg - see map below.

The second game will now be played on the Friday against Limassol and this will be at a venue new to Burnley. This is Bad Goisern which is some 39 miles from Salzburg and further east, much closer to the Clarets' training camp at Obertraun. The game kicks off at 6:00 p.m.

This completes Burnley's pre-season programme, and all the games can be found listed on the Clarets Mad Calendar
