Liverpool born Eaves is just 18 and has been at Oldham since he was aged 15, joining them from Crewe Alexandra where he had been previously in their academy.

Last season saw him break into the first team squad at Boundary Park and made fifteen league appearances. His debut was in January of this year as a substitute and all his appearances to date have been from the bench.

Last week the youngster netted a hat trick in a pre-season friendly against Bolton Wanderers and has become one of the young players on the radar for the Clarets.

Manager Brian Laws has confirmed that any further signings during this transfer window are likely to be towards the end of August, once he's had time to see the team in league action. Whether that could mean moves for Dawson and Eaves remains to be seen but Laws is keen to recruit some younger players.
