Chappy signed for Millwall from Southampton in March 2013 on loan until the end of the season before making his move a permanent one, but his time at the Den has been hit with injuries. He was able to start just 12 league games last season and this season has only made six league starts and one substitute appearance.

His move to Ipswich is initially for a month but an agreement is in place for him to remain at Portman Road for the remainder of the season which would include any potential play-off games.

It's just over ten years since he left Burnley for West Brom as a 19-year-old in January 2005 and earlier this month he celebrated his 30th birthday.

He broke into the Burnley side as at the age of 18, coming on as a substitute for Gordon Armstrong in a 2-0 defeat at Norwich. He was soon a regular in the side and remained so until he took the decision to move to the Premier League when Bryan Robson signed him for the Baggies.

He'd made 65 league appearances for Burnley and had probably just turned in his best performance for us in the cup win against Liverpool. He's gone on to make 279 league appearances for five different clubs, Preston the one not previously mentioned.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy said: "I'm delighted. He's another one who that can play in a number of positions, either wide or centrally. He's shown what a capable, comfortable player he is at this level while training with us. He's just fitted straight in. He's a good one to get, I'm really pleased."

Chappy has gone straight into their squad for the game against Reading tomorrow.
