Burnley have been offered David Nugent on a permanent basis but turned it down when the offer meant an exchange with one of our established first team players moving to Fratton Park.

David Nugent
Nugent spent most of last season on loan at Turf Moor but returned to Portsmouth in the summer where he's been back in the first team under new manager Steve Cotterill.

However, Cotterill was happy to sell the former Bury and Preston striker to try and land one of Burnley's players, but the Clarets quickly turned it down.

Laws admitted that he might make a move in the market should we get any injuries at Swansea, and there has been speculation with Chris Iwelumo suffering a hamstring injury in that game.

But it is not thought serious and he could still be fit in time to join up with the Scotland squad for the second of the two international games in the next week.

With that, it looks as though it is going to be a quiet day at Turf Moor both in terms of incoming and outgoing transfers with us not expected to be involved in either.
