Burnley fans to return to cricket field stand

Might happen? It has happened. For this weekend's home game against Spurs and the following week's fixture against Arsenal, it will be as you were with the cricket field stand being used exclusively for the visiting supporters as has been the case all season, and indeed since we were relegated from the Premier League in 2010.

The decision not to allow home supporters into the cricket field stand this season was not a popular one and escaped heavy criticism only because Retainergate took precedence amongst supporters when season tickets went back on sale following the promotion.

But the club have now revealed that there will be a change of heart and home supporters will be admitted for the last two crucial home games of this season against Stoke and Leicester.

Initially these seats will be available to season ticket holders who will have the option to move into the cricket field stand with the club preferring that they take up the option for both games.

Access will be via the turnstiles close to the players' entrance between at the Longside end of the stand.

Co-chairman John B told Clarets Mad: "We've listened to the supporters groups on this subject and have taken the decision to allow home supporters into the stand for the last two games.

"These are vital games for us and we are looking to fill the stadium for both to give the team every chance to get the points needed."

In total, 1,600 seats have been made available in the stand for Burnley supporters.
