And Mo doesn't join League One Leeds

Mo Camara
News has broken this evening that Camara has signed a deal with St. Mirren until the end of the season with an option for a further year. The deal has been completed and they are now just waiting international clearance from the Football Association.

Last week they thought they'd signed Ian Harte but when that fell through they targeted Camara. Manager Gus MacPherson has said this evening: "We have all the paper work done with Mo Camara, all we are waiting on now is the international clearance coming through from the FA, but the main thing is that the contracts have been signed and Mo is now a St. Mirren player. He has signed until the end of this season but we also have the option to extend that by another twelve months.

"Sometimes the international clearance can take a bit longer than other times to get pushed through but we're hopeful that as it is just coming from the English FA that things will be straight forward and processed sooner rather than later. But no matter how long the international clearance takes, the deal is done and the paperwork has been signed."

MacPherson also added that the dealings with Harte last week had worked in their favour. "It has appeared to have alerted people within the game that we were looking for a left back. So we received a phone call telling us that Mo Camara was a free agent. It has worked in our favour.

"When you see the level that Mo has played at, he is a quality player. He has played at the Championship level in England and was at Celtic a few seasons back so we've no doubt that we have signed ourselves a good and very experienced player.

"It was good to see that he wanted to come here as there was also interest from Leeds United, but he talked about how he enjoyed his time up here with Celtic so he believes he can come here and enjoy his football again."
